Most of us have experienced the nightmare of packing jewelry. Smaller pieces are easily lost, anything that has a chain will get tangled in knots and the last thing you want to be doing on vacation is taking the time to detangle everything. With a few helpful packing tips, you can avoid a jewelry nightmare when traveling.

STRAWS WILL SAVE ALL NECKLACES

Whether you are using a jewelry roll organizer, jewelry box organizer or just a travel pouch you should always use straws for your necklaces when packing your jewelry for a trip.

Loop one end of the necklace through the straw and secure the clasp. This will prevent your necklace chain from getting tangled in knots.

WASHCLOTHS AND ZIP LOCKS FOR YOUR BRACELETS

If you aren’t using a jewelry organizer for packing your jewelry, zip lock bags can be another alternative to separating out your jewelry. Using one large zip lock for all your bracelets would be just fine, BUT I’d suggest wrapping each bracelet in either washcloths, tissue paper or even toilet paper. Wrapping your bracelets in some type of material will help prevent any damages that could happen during your travels.

BUTTON YOUR EARRINGS

Even if you have some type of jewelry organizer to help you pack your jewelry, I would still use buttons for your earrings. This is one of my favorite tips! It gives you a greater chance of not losing the backs to your earrings. Insert the earring post into the button and secure the earring.

There are many, many more tips and tricks on how to pack your jewelry when you are traveling. I hope the few that I listed will help you on your next trip. If you apply any of these tips while packing for your next trip make sure to take a picture and tag us on Instagram! @christinagreenejewelry
